We are thrilled to announce that the 1936 Aeronca LB “Low Wing” NC16262 has been donated to the museum by Jim Hammond, and is now a permanent part of the Kelch Aviation Museum aircraft collection. It’s on display in our Knight Hangar – so come see it any time!
This award-winning aircraft was restored first by Leading Edge Aircraft and then by Paul Workman at Bedrock Aero, and it returned to flight on June 30th, 2018. The “Low Wing” is powered by an 85hp LeBlond engine, which was overhauled right here at the Brodhead Airport fifteen years ago!
We are so grateful to Jim Hammond for his generous donation. NC16262 will be maintained and regularly flown at the museum, so keep an eye on the skies!
