Gathered at the museum today were three of the last airworthy 1928-29 Stearman C3Bs in the world.
The red one at left was owned by Al Kelch and is now part of the Kelch Aviation Museum. At center and visiting from California is a beauty owned by Walt Bowe. At right is an original U.S. Air Mail ship owned by C. Mike Williams of Georgia and currently on display in the museum.
All are powered by Wright J-5 “Whirlwind” engines and were restored by museum director and trustee, Kent McMakin
